Hey,
Apologies if this is in the wrong section, I'm new to the site, we got our gerbils a few weeks back and have been staying in our bedroom, but want to move them downstairs into our living room soon, but they will be going to a friend's house for 2 weeks in just over a week's time whilst me and my partner go on holiday, would it be wise to keep them in our bedroom until they go to our friends so they don't get stressed by the frequent change of location?

Hi there and welcome to the forum! I wouldn't worry about it too much. Whenever I move a tank, the gerbils are excited and investigate for an hour or so, then they settle down and it doesn't seem to bother them again.

Moving the tank around shouldn't bother them. I take my gerbils tanks out into the living room a few times a week so they aren't so timid around people, and they never seem too unsettled by it.

Ours don't care about moving the cage, they do love the cage getting moved up and down in a "what was that?" kind of way
