Hello I just got approved to be a full member and we have 5 happy gerbils and I just wanted to show their cage. This is an upgrade from a 10 gallon tank. It is two totes with a dryer tube connecting them together. What's everyone's thought and suggestions?

Do all five of your gerbils live together? Male or female? I'm curious about the dryer tube. . . how does that work for you? Do they chew it or anything? I've always used plastic tubes for lack of anything better, but my gerbils just chew them! It looks like they have lots of burrowing space, I'm sure they'll enjoy it. My only suggestions would be to maybe add a wheel and some other toys? Unless there are toys I just can't see.

They all 5 do live together and love it. They do have toys lol but they destroy them a lot lol, we do need to get them a wheel definitely and I'm thinking there are two males and 3 females but not totally sure about that. As for the dryer tube they tried to chew it one time when we first put them in but they quickly gave up and have never done it again so that's a plus we are going to add on eventually.

How old are they? With males and females living together, things are going to start happening before long. Even if you are planning on breeding, you'll still need to split them up since gerbil parents need to raise their pups alone, not with another adult around. And if you need help sexing, there's lots of help to be had here.

Unsure about the age since we got them from someone who was getting rid of all their gerbils and they had around 28 left after we took some of them and they wasn't sure about the age of all of them. And we tried sexing them but we looker up pic of them and some of the people wasn't any help.

If a gerbil over 8 weeks is a male - you will know about it! They stick out like - well a pair of you-know-whats.
If you can't tell the difference between the sexes of your gerbils - them they are most likely all female (due to the above). You only need to stand them on your hand and lift up their tail towards you - and you will be able to sex them.
If they are older, you should be able to see 'them' when they are just standing in their tank. But do attach pictures if you are not sure - or they are younger than 2 months...
Fingers crossed they ARE all female, otherwise you will be buying a whole loads of new tanks and tubes...

That is very possible that they are all females lol, when I was looking it up I figured all males would have those but then I seen pictures of gerbils that people said were males and they didn't have anything. I will post some pic up asap tho for help.
