I already asked this question and didn't get any response. I realize my wording may have been a bit confusing and didn't make a lot of sense. I have a female gerbil, her name is Lucy. Lucy is currently still with her last litter that are all males. They are now about 6 weeks old and I'm going to be removing them from her care. I still have two females from her first litter. They are in a separate tank and are about 11 weeks old. My question is would it be possible (if I do the split tank method) to reintroduce Lucy to the other females?

Sorry we missed your last question, however I am not sure I can give you a definitive answer on whether they will become friends, (and I am sure someone else week comment on their experiences soon) but there is no harm in trying if that is what you want to try.
I would say that if you were going to use the Split Cage Method in full over a few weeks, then there is literally no harm in trying. The gerbils won't get hurt if properly divided and if you notice any problems between the 2 sisters during this time, you can stop the Split anyway.
When you feel they ARE showing all the right signs, have an extra pair of hands with you, thick gloves and pots, and the whole day to stay with them, you can safely introduce them in that same Split Cage as risk-free as possible.
If done correctly, no-one gets hurt or stressed, and worst case after a few weeks, you still have a pair of sisters together and a single mum in one piece to make a new plan with.
