Hi guys I'm new to this - I recently got two gerbil boys. I'm concerned that one may be in distress. He keeps burrowing against the side of the cage over and over like scratching the side of the cage. Is this normal? Should I be worried about him?

Digging in a corner (digging the plastic/glass) is very normal and nothing to worry about. You can try giving them more bedding if possible so they can try digging actual tunnels (I think 6 inches of bedding is usually recommended) and maybe he'll dig the side less, but again it's normal behaviour for them when kept in cages/tanks as we do.
