One of my baby gerbils (barley even a year old; I don't care if he's technically an adult, he's still a baby to me) fell off our kitchen island and hit the hard wood floor pretty hard... now there's a bump around the middle of his back and his hind legs can't move (so can't his tail). However, he is crawling around as best as he can, eating, drinking (we have to give him water through an eyedropper) and going to the bathroom.
I've been with him since the moment he was born (literally; my female gave birth to him). We're not gonna take him to the vet b/c they'll just put him down.
...Will he be okay...?

Can he move his back legs at all?
One of mine had a seizure last year and was left paralyzed from the bottom half of his body.
Hopefully this isn't the case with yours, but could he have hit his head as well when he fell?

I'm soo sorry that happened, i would see how he is doing and seems in any pain-shivering, hunches over or just seems not himself. I would consider taking him to a vet if he is the same tomorrow or doesn't seem any better as you don't want him to suffer. I've had accidents happen and don't blame yourself, gerbils are very quick and things just happen. They may be able to offer metacam, they only need a tiny drop per day, if they think he could recover, it just depends what kind of injury he has. Do what is best for him but we are responsible for our pets. If you need to write, feel free to contact me by private message, I'm on your side. Take care, Tammy
