Hello,
For the last month, there seems to be some kind of Carefresh bedding shortage. I have different pet stores (online and physical) and none seem to have or know when the next load of bedding will arrive.
Unfortunately, the last bag I had it's almost finish.
Does anyone know of any similar and SAFE alternative for gerbils as main bedding?
Thank you.

Thank you! I already checked it, but sadly it doesn't mentioned any other paper based bedding apart from carefresh. I use hay and hemp as well, but without any paper based bedding, tunnels don't hold up

I use hemp, and especially with hay it holds tunnels just fine, that said, that's with Ecoshiv, I did find that Aubiose was much drier and didn't hold tunnels anywhere near as well. There's much more discussion at the substrate sticky thread in this forum section , see here for recent discussions (I'm going to link that in the FAQ thread).

I use Aspen for my boys but i have seen a brand, Pets' Pick Uber bedding that is paper, not sure if it's good or how available it is, maybe search for that and check reviews?

Two beddings that are similar to Carefresh (in the US) are Kaytee Clean and Cozy and Oxbow Pure Comfort.
