I purchased a box of these 50ml bottles after an exceptionally destructive visiting gerbil left me looking for some indestructible glass water bottles, small enough to use inside a tank. Unfortunately I was only able to buy a box of 24 rather than smaller quantities, and only from a single Ebay seller. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115266483940Firstly, unfortunately they aren't very easy to use inside a tank because velcro tends not to adhere well to the curved glass surface, and can't always support the bottle's weight. So they didn't exactly solve my problem but perhaps I will make some wooden stands that can hold them. Each bottle comes with some metal clips and a rubber band for attaching to a barred cage. The bottles are made of glass, metal and rigid plastic, with a removable rubber seal inside the lid. This means each part can be individually and thoroughly sanitised. They are fairly reliable but you do have to check they are working regularly as occasionally the water will stop coming out. Sometimes they need a shake to get them going. These bottles don't have ball-bearings like most do, but seem to rely on surface tension. The spout is rounded with a little hole which the animal licks to get water. They can leak a little.

I didn't even know they did glass bottles that small, a useful size. Much smaller than the Living world 177ml ones I have! Although your Petcraft ones have plastic caps, vs the metal ones of the LW ones I have. But perhaps it would be too awkward for them to chew? Do you know how the reliability of your Petcraft 50ml bottles compare to other bottles you've had? (doesn't seem like any are 100% reliable!). As for mounting them, how about using mesh, like this? And would you want to sell a couple of the 50ml bottles? I've always liked the idea of a back up bottle in my boys cages for when I go away, just in case one stops delivering. But I didn't want to put another 'larger' bottle in each partition. It seems the LW 177ml bottles are about £6ea +delivery, how about £3ea +delivery for the 50ml ones? (I have an eBay account, if you're up for selling a couple).

Markpd I'd be happy to sell a couple. I thought about offering to sell some but wasn't sure if anyone would be interested! I will PM you. They are slightly less reliable than the Classic bottles but on par or better than any other brand I have tried. I would check they're working every day though, which I don't necessarily do with the Classic bottles because I've used for so long. I'm not sure if the caps are plastic now actually. They could be a powder coated metal. But either way, I don't think a gerbil could chew them. They're too hard and too awkwardly shaped. Mounting them with mesh is a good idea. They don't have a convenient ridge like the Living World bottles to hang them by, but I could probably work something out.

Thanks, have ordered them . And good to know. Btw, although you can't see it, their is a wire metal clip going under the bottle to support it too. I wonder if I can find a pic with it showing.... [edit], nope, see here
