Hi all, I'm currently in college studying a level 3 in animal management in Wales. I have to make a project for my qualification and I'd like to gather data from other owners from all backgrounds. I've tried to create the questionnaire keeping your personal information in mind, there's no need to add a name or emails it's solely for the purpose of research and analyzing data to get to a conclusion. I hope you'll interact with my google form and tell me how you care for your gerbils down below Thank you Google Form

Done Btw, technically their wasn't the right answer for me for " How many gerbils do you own?I did own 2 gerbils until 2 months ago, then just 1 until he died 2+ weeks ago. I am planning on getting 2 more gerbils though in the coming weeks (I'm waiting on a breeder). Anyway, I answered 1-2, as I will have a pair again.
May I suggest a few tweaks to your survey? Re feeding gerbils, generally they are mostly fed mixed seeds + a little veg (which seems to be close to their natural diet, depending upon the seed composition), I think this common diet choice should be an option. Muesli sort of covers that, but AFAIK that's a very specific cereal I think? Enrichment toys aren't food usually Some people on here (not me, yet!), have owned more than 12 gerbils! Perhaps just add a 13+ option too?

Ha ha - yes indeed. I do try to generate multiple answers if I feel that the survey could do with a wider range of answers (particularly where the answer choices are quite restrictive) or only admit one where the gist of the answers is little changed with repetition. Often though, a survey focus has to be pitched for a SMART target so it only represents a smaller target group anyway.
I often find that surveys don't always allow for my animal keeping to be fully represented - like a recent 'cost of living exotic pet survey that listed vague animal groups but didn't include a slot for arachnids/scorpions or turtles/tortoises; and another survey (about pet keeping) that was unfortunately written by someone who doesn't/hasn't had multiple pets of the same species or a range of exotic pets so their lack of an 'other' choice in most answers would certainly restrict and strongly skew their results.
But for gerbil surveys shared on here - having a capless category for overall numbers would be great - and/or specify to answer individually for all separate enclosures you currently (or up until very recently) have - as this will increase the number of completed surveys too I am sure.
Great that people are trying to learn more about small animals and starting discussions about them either way though - great stuff. We need more gerbil talk in HE and FE!!!!

Yes, sorry - it's easy to forget what's jargon and what's everyday.

Agreed... I've had twenty gerbils at one point and I think there should be like a 13+ option.
