I bought this tank to use for temporary accommodation for gerbils. I was uncertain about buying from an unknown brand but I needed something that could be flatpacked when not in use, and which wasn't too heavy, and this fit the bill. I purchased the 80cm size but there is also a 100cm version.
I find this tank very sturdy. It has a metal base, metal frame, metal lid and acrylic sides which slot seamlessly into the frame (leaving no opportunity for chewing).
Access is excellent. There is both a fully opening top lid and a front door, allowing easy access to the gerbils for taming and interaction.
The ventilation slits in the sides are about 4mm wide meaning chewing is unlikely but not impossible. The lid is metal and the gaps are about 1cm wide. Some have raised concerns about the ventilation but it should be easy enough to replace the lid with a mesh one if needed.
The front door is a possible weak spot for chewing. Some gerbils may be to push it forwards at the lower corners and find a place to start chewing. It would be possible to glue something over the corners on the inside to prevent this if needed. The front door is also a little flimsy and fiddly to put together in general.
The tank is not the biggest nor the deepest. You can fit about 24cm of bedding under the front door, possibly more at the back if you slope it. It's probably adequate for a pair but for long term use, the bigger version would be more ideal.
Apparently these tanks can stack, however I think it might be unsafe unless they are fixed to the wall as a tank full of bedding is very heavy.
A possible con: acrylic sides scratch easily and may cloud over time. It should be no problem to get replacement panels cut for the back and sides, but the front with its door may be more tricky.
Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase and think it's a good option for gerbils. I would definitely recommend it, unless your gerbils happen to be extreme escape artists in which case a traditional glass tank is safer.
