Hey Peter!
Great idea with the chat room! *claps*
One suggestion if it's possible - could there be like a counter or something on the forum homepage that says how many users are in the chat room? Just a thought....

Angela, I'm glad that you like it. I will see what I can do, but not all chat room features are free. And ... I'm not going to pay money for that. ....just checked: it would cost me US$ 80,- per year! I'm not going to do this now.

Caroline, I've got a super busy day ahead of me today, but I'm going to try to figure it out tonight... I'll post instructions/ tips, if I can. I think the idea of a chat room is great, I'm just wondering if anyone will actually use it... I hope so, communicating in real time is a good way to make the interwebs seem a little less... impersonal, I guess. Nicole

Great idea! But... is the chat footer slowing anyone else's computer way down? I don't mind the comp being slow when I'm actually using the chatroom, but the footer is slowing things down when I'm reading threads, too.

D'oh! Didn't even realise that it stays open at the bottom of the page once you're logged in! I was keeping 2 windows open! What a nit!

Peter, I think it should just be on one page. Because it is slowing it down for me on every page and I have cable internet. We could have a new forum section that has a link to the chatroom so it's easily seen.

I've had to reboot a few times today to recover. I'm not sure why this is happening. I hope that we can keep the chat room as it's a great idea, Peter. Linda

It seems like some of us really do want to use chat, but are always alone when we log in there. What if we join chat when we get on the forum and then just stay there to see if anyone else shows up? You can use the "float & dock" feature at the bottom of the chat window to keep just a small chat window (instead of a whole browser window) on the side while you do other stuff... So, hope to see someone in there! (I'm there now, but will be "away" on some errands in a bit, but I won't log out.)

And you can also set a certain time when some of you will go into the chat room.
