Hey , looks like you're heading for another fun colour confusion ... The pups all look very healthy ... Regarding the DEH , if you breed the Sp DEH pup from the NutmegXSp Agouti pair , you should get 50% Nutmegs and 50% DEH ... That is if Winter is indeed a RESN ... Lets all hope so ... Anyways congrats ...

Thanks! Hi All Again, Here's more pics of Winter n Solace's 2nd litter pups. All 5 of em with their eyes opened 2 days ago There's 2 of the beigey dove color (aa) solid color, 2 of the silver ticked color (Aa) belly is white, and a very dark ruby eyed white. The acutal color u see in the beigey dove is here looks like that all the time.... The other 2 pics below didnt show the color. Taken in flash Can u see the 2 ticked pups from the bottom up? LOL I still have no idea what they are. Pic taken without flash so as to see the ticking better. Here's all 5 of em Pic taken without flash so as to see the ticking better. I love the pups colors even I have no idea what they are! They are so special and good natured too. All of em have very dark ruby eyes. So dark that I call it "choco" eyes. Here's what..... Solace is taking her well deserved break from 2 litters. Her mate Winter is with my REW Snowball. I've paired em up to test for recessives that Winter might carry. Solace's next mate will be a nutmeg Peanut to test for ee....but that will be couple months later.

(lol i'm just gonna copy and paste my reply from GSUK cos i'm lazy ) i have no idea what colour they are, but i do know that they are *exceptionally* cute! ;D lol but this must mean that either Winter or Solace is white bellied? yes? seeing as you have white bellied pups... perhaps the white bellied pups are RE polar foxes (Aa Cch DD ee gg pp aka apricot) ? with perhaps one carrying ch to make it lighter than the other... and this would mean (for eg) winter is a RESN with ch and that solace is a cream (carrying Aa, Ee and Gg)? according to gene calculator, you could get a dove too (aa Cch DD Gg Ee pp) which would be the beigey ones. and you can get REW too, which would be the err REW in the litter ( either aaCCDDEeggpp or aaCchDDEeggpp) so er is that right? ;D

You know, looking at the ticking, the shade of eyes, and the beigy shade of the pups, I have to agree that there is something more going on here than we think. I wonder if you might have the dilute gene. Those grey pups might be dilute siamese, and the lighter pups with ticking could be some kind of dilute light colourpoint agouti. You might want to check some of the dilute gerbil pictures online.
Having looked hard at all the pics of dilute gerbils online, it seems that the dilute gene can lighten both eye colour and ear/pigment colour significantly, in addition to coat colour. However, it does often retain a light ticking and ticking can even appear in aa recessives, such as blue gerbils, which otherwise do not have ticking. The fact that your gerbils show ticking could be thus explained.
There aren't many pics of dd in combination with c recessives, and the fact that some of your line carry c(h) is significant. We already know from DTW's that c(h) genes have a lightening effect on eyes. So does c(chm). If you have a situation where the parents carry c(h), c(chm) and dilute genes, you could have a dilute BEW or dilute LCPA and think it is a REW with really dark eyes and ticking.
Contrary to what someone said, I did see a post online from Singapore advertising siamese gerbils, so the c(chm) gene is present in your area.
If not dilute then something really different is going on here.

lol I am happy to hear that Sandy..... I was already beginning to think that the ppl in this forum thinks I made up their colors. LOL..... It's a relieve that you point out something is going on here. I havent been able to find any good dilute pics thou. I'll be grateful if someone can. These gerbs are such darling........... I'll try to keep their colors going. It's gonna be tough and I'm not that keen to inbred them to keep the colors. We'll see. After all I have 4 of these unknown coloration. It might just work out! The other recent unknown pair is Caramal (unknown and unrealted to this pair) with Pied Black (GgPp) . Keep a look out too!

Do you think you could make a family tree of the gerbils you know that have this unusual colouration/dilution? Also if you breed some lines with blacks and then cross them you might get blue.

Hi Sandy,
Thanks for pointing that out. It will be cool to achieve that. It's worth exploring. I'll put that into my breeding plan. Their mom Solace is due to be paired with a nutmeg in 2 months. I'll use these pups to cross with Winter n Solace's 2nd litter. Will keep ya all posted!.

3rd in line, Del Taken in Neutral Sunlight. This is the best representation of Del Taken with Flash. U can see that his eyes are indeed deep red. Reminds me of a Slate's eyes. All 3 of em have the same deep eyes.
