The question of whether a gerbil is Black or Slate seems to come up a lot, particularly when colorpoint recessives are in the mix. So, I have some pictures of a Black and a Slate side by side. The Black gerbil is aa Cc[h] Ee G- P-. He's the darker one in the pics. The Slate gerbil, Bhel, is aa Cc[chm] Ee/e[f] gg P-.     |

helpfull! sticky? (maybe other people could post pictures of a CC black & slate next to each other? spotted black & slate would be great too i think..)

Shooting Star looks like my ice is black afterall. But he is very light, with grey or blue like in his coat

This would make a great sticky. What would be even better, would be to have a sticky full of comparison pics, like, DEH pups vs. Nutmeg pups... maybe?

This would make a great sticky. What would be even better, would be to have a sticky full of comparison pics, like, DEH pups vs. Nutmeg pups... maybe? ;D The next project I want us to start for the forum is just that!  And something like Different nutmegs- because I know for sure I've got a shot of 3 nutties together and they look SO different! If anybody has similar comparison pictures- they can PM them to me |

just thought I would post a picture of a siamese, burmese and a colourpoint slate.  This was my first litter that I had anything gg in it.. it was a shock to find out that I had gg when I didn't even know. I later went on to produce grey agouti from the Colourpoint slate in this litter. |
