Alrighty.
I got my 2 gerbils sunday...after 3 hours of driving, getting lost and them not being at the shelter i finally had them by 6'o clock pm, it took another 2/3 hrs before I got them home and in their tank! They are now settling down nicely in their new home (a 10 gallon tank). Both are still nameless any suggestions? I don't take pictures of anything with a soul (not going into any detail). However, all are welcome to see my girls on web cam when I get it setup. My msn name is themousespeaks@hotmail.com add me to your list so you can see them. I'll let everyone know when I will have them on cam in the next few days.

Oh I forgot one is brown or buff colored as the shelter calls it and the other is black with white smudge spots. I don't know if they are boy or girls, the shelter said boys, their foster care mom said girls. I haven't checked yet because I don't have their trust. The names that have been offered are :
Pad & Thai - a thailandese dish yummy.....that didn't come out right, i don't want to eat them but, aren't the names cute?
Butterscotch & smudge
sploch (for the black and white) oreo- (for the black and white)

Awww! Congratulations on your new arrivals ;D Shame you don't take pic's as I'd love to see them. Little tip for sexing - put them in something deep and clear - eg. like a vase, then you can get a good look at their bits if you hold them up in the container, this won't stress them out much either! Bit difficult offering names when I'm not sure what they really look like or what sex they are. Smudge sounds good though for the black & white one and how about Caramel for the other? Caroline

I got a good look yesturday, the buff is a girl. I'm still a miff as to what the other is. I'm figuring girl too since there hasn't been any pups and hopefully there won't be!
Anywho, no name suggestions yet. Everyone wants to know their names but, only 3 ppl have had suggestion and those were what I wrote previously. Perhaps, because everyone else could careless or are afraid of them and only ask out of politness.

Those are awsome names. I had the same problem when I first brought my degus home......I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to name them Then I figured out that the one of them REALLY liked sunflower seeds, So what else could I name her but Sunny.......and what goes with Sunny you ask!!!!!!! Well Cher of course! ;D My gerbil that I have had a hideous name when I rescued her from the mouth of a snake, but my 3 year old promptly fixed that..........the gerbil's name is........you guessed it.........DORA!!!! What else would a three year old name a gerbil
