Point 1 I DO NOT recommend adult female introductions without careful thought, a very long split cage and a lot of supervision BUT Random was paired with Vladimir who died age 4. She is 1 year old and Vladimir was her grandfather, they where back-crossed because of the amazing mottling genes both carried but never produced pups. Butterscotch is from my second litter and is one of my oldest surviving pups at 2 years 3 months. She was paired with her sister Tequila who died quickly of a swollen abdomen before I had time to get her to the vet. As both where lonely and depressed I decided on a long split cage itnroduction and patience has paid off (hopefully, the next 48 hours is the charm). Random Butterscotch (bad hair day) both

Cute pictures. Good luck with the intro. How long have you had to split cage them for? I had a female intro that was love at first site, very strange. But I'm doing a Male intro with a Dad and his son. It's been 2 weeks now, and so far no love.

They where split for around two weeks. I hadn't planned to put them together this quick but my 11 year old got impatient and placed both in my hands at the same time (let mum get bit ). the two girls acted as though they'd always been together so we put them in the playpen together. You've seen my ball sandpit, when they both got in there together it was obvious they where going to be mates. For those who are wondering why this is a big thing, because in the wild only a dominant female breeds it is very difficult to introduce adult females successfully and we often recommend leaving widows on their own rather than taking the risk. I took these a few minutes ago.
