Viggo squeaks everytime I touch his belly, face or chin. It's not pain or fright, it's more like an irritated sound. Why does he do this?

My gerbils tend to squeak when they want to play, get a treat or if I pick them up unexpectedly. Mabye if you give him a treat before you try to play with him. That might show Viggo that your not trying to harm him. How long have you had Viggo?

I've had him over a year now.. what I was wondering about was why he only makes the sounds, when we touch a special part of his body.

my gerbs squeak when they are excited trying to get their way out of the cage, and also when they might be having a little bit of a scuffle..
