Cats and Crittters, they treat, well, cats and critters. They are [glow=red,2,300]GREAT[/glow]I have not brought a gerbil, but I have brought other rodents. They hold them gently, know a whole lot, anbd really love pets. Even when Nibbles badly bit the vet with one of his last breathes the vet was very gentle, and placed him in her other hand, continuing to check him until someone could take him

Where in NY is Cats & Critters located?
I use the Cornell Companion Animal Hospital, and I'm very pleased with their services. I've also used Ithaca Small Animal Hospital, and they're competent. Finally, there is a vet that makes house calls... I've called on her to euthanize gerbils before, because she can do it in the comfort of their home environment (actually, both ended up dying before she arrived).
But anyway! Thanks for sharing your recommendation. Nicole

Rochester, NY. They really are great. They even sent me a hand written note after Nibbles was PTS

Rochester? Really? That's only 3ish hours from here! I live in a little more-cows-than-people town so taking gerbils to a vet around here is unheard of! I will keep this vet in mind if I ever need one :-)

I use a Homeopathic/Modern Medicine Vet in Westhampton NY called Hampton Vetinary. I like them a lot. When my cat had cancer, he gave her a chinese herbal medication and it actually shrunk her tumors! (This is on Long Island, btw!)

Very cool. If you're ever interested in adopting some pups, let me know, I'm pretty sure I'm the only breeder in Suffolk County!
