Hey everyone, don't forget to submit your gerbils to Sandy for the forum show! Remember this is all in fun, and no one will put down or make fun of your baby. You may be surprised at just how nice a specimen your gerbil is!

Well I don't see why not enter a gerbil with 1/2 a tail, as long as there is not an open wound I can still judge the gerbil on the rest of the characteristics! A gerbil's tail should be thick with a good tuft. So ok, there's no tuft to judge (even though on your nutmeg I happen to know it had a great tuft, since it was a pup from me, and I remember I noticed it ) but there's more to a gerbil than it's tail, eh? These are the only things that can disqualify your gerbil: hard nipping (not an issue here), open sores/wounds and scabs and disease/bad tempered (again, not an issue here unless the gerbil looks ill).

Ok... I just sent in photos of Lil and Max... although I'm not sure if they're "self" colored. I think that Lil is a lilac and Max is a black, but I am not sharp with gerbil genetics. Oh well, now is a good time to find out!
