Mottled Class: Even though there were only three entrants into this class, they were very good quality gerbils, I thought. Third Place: (ashgerbil) Isabel's "Felix," a male 7-month old pied Colourpoint Agouti has a beautiful stripe down his nose and very even ticking. He shows the golden tail characteristic of this colour. He is a bit on the slim side for my liking and has slightly rounded ears but has a great tuft and stunning eyes and whiskers. Very nice boy! Second Place: (sunshinegerbils) Chelsea's "Cookie," a lightly mottled or pied Black 4-month old female has such a cute expression! Her coat is in good condition and her markings are very appealing. She has a good body type but still has some growing to do. She would have done well in a pied class as she has quite a clean collar. Nice bit of dappling over the rump. Her eyes and ears are a little too rounded. Very nice tuft and whiskers. First Place: (ashgerbil) Isabel's "Rufus," a 7-mo. old mottled Topaz male looks like he will be a very big boy once he has grown into his length by bulking up a bit more. He has a fair bit of white on his back but it is a bit blurred, not forming distinct patches of white, which is too bad as he is such a beautiful boy. He has slightly rounded ear tips and quite handsome eyes but the best thing is his tail tuft! I'd love to see this guy next year when he has grown a bit more! Well done, everyone!
