Last week-end, I bought my gerbils a new treat from our local pet shop. They are made by a company called Super pet,and are called crispy Chews. Reading the packaging, there was some information supplied on the back about them,I'm not going to copy it completely, but basicaly, the chews I'd bought were dried slices of Gourd. Well my gerbils did enjoy chewing them,so this week I bought a Gourd, from my local fruit and veg shop. The gerb's,both mong's and pallids, love it.Our rat also thought it was lovely. It only cost a £1,and,as a special treat, went down very well.

LOL at Andrea ;D, Yep, Gourds are in the same family as pumpkins and squashes,in fact their seeds look identical to the pumpkin seeds in Gerri Gerbil, only smaller. At least, the ones in the Gourd I bought were,it was about the size of a cricket ball, maybe a bit bigger, and orange in colour, although they also had green ones. My gerb's ate the seeds first (what a surprise ) then the rest of it,including the skin. Lyd
