dried low fat cat food is fine (go-cat for instance) extra nuts are another option but watch for fat

You could also use yogurt or dog biscuits. My pregnant gerbils does not like my cat food or the dog biscuits! I think I'm going to have to go for crickets, since I can't stand mealworms!!

We have cat's, and I've tried giving my pregnant gerbils about 5 different kinds of cat food, but they wouldn't touch any of them, not even sniff it. Dads on the other hand, seemed eager to munch on one if they could get ahold of it I found a treat bar in the gerbil setion it only had about 4% fat and it had 18% protein, so I gave her some of that, plus she got all the peanuts in the bag but it made her a little chubby. She slimmed down afterworsd though. I heard of breeders who give their gerbils scrambled eggs when they're pregnant or nursing. I tried giving one of my girls a piece, she nibbled it for a second and dropped it but wouldn't taste it again. Then dad of course, tried to wolf the entire thing down So I haven't tried it again Anyone else heard of/do this?
