Is it ok to add things to their bowl everyday? Such as cat food one day frozen peas the next oats another day , peanutbutter treats the next etc. etc. Is this ok or will they only eat the treats and not the gerbil food mix?

I also add peanuts and yogurt treats as a bit extra in their bowls (a topping ). All those things you mentioned should be just fine to feed as treats or as part of there diet, they only thing I would make sure to feed less of is the peas, too many furits or veggies can give a gerbil Diareah which can be harmful to them.

I'm currently limiting the treats I give my boys, I only give them by hand as I'm trying to tame them. I noticed that they were less interested in taking treats from me if they knew they could just go to the food bowl but now they have to come to me (or rather my partner as they like him more than me ) they seem a bit better. However, if you're not trying to tame your gerbils, I'm sure a treat every day is fine.
