I'm leaving late morning next Monday, and returning around late afternoon time on Wednesday. I figure it only really counts as one day alone, so if I clean them out Sunday night and then fill the bottles / bowl up to the top and bury food around the cage as well as overflow their foodbowls just before I leave, they'll be fine? I'll also give them a carrot slice and two or three grapes in case they cover their bowl (which Raven and Pepper do all the time ) or pile the shavings against the bottle. I'm also a little worried about leaving them in case they have any disputes (*is a paranoid gerbil momma*) - any tips? Fankies (Oh and I've never done this before, my dad's idea, we're all going somewhere, including my bro, which sucks because a) I'll end up with the lovely flat pull-out thingy b) If he'd stayed home, he could've watched them c) It'll be so much fun dragging an 18 year old around who only lives for his computer and Xbox and doesn't care for anything else (there's a big zoo nearby so I'm hoping we go in it) b) I'll keep shouting at him Sorry had to get it off my chest at the same time

I think that should do you, but I personally think celery is better than carrot. 1 stick. Make sure the covers are very secure too. Maybe wait to clean the tanks until you get back to prevent disputes, but do fill up the food and give lots of cardboard. Good luck!

Celery would be better - more moisture and such - but we never eat it

Yeah... I've not had the best luck with Celery either! Some like it, others don't even look at it... but NONE of them 'love' it. funny.
I also get those sticks Andrea! I always try to have a chunk of on in with my mommies. They usually eat the regular food first, but this way I ALWAYS know there's something, because I can see the chunk! LOL
The only think that I have to worry about when I leave is my 'original' girls. (Little B, Kandice, Honey Dew and Neela) Well, Kandice is no longer part of that group due to a dislocated shoulder??? but I have to make sure with them, that if there's something to go inside of, then they ALL have to fit in there... otherwise it causes fights because if one sister wants in there, then so do the others! It's all or nothin'!! For this group I also have to make sure that their cardboard is in pieces small enough to that it can't form a "house" if it gets burried and dug under.... OTHERWISE>>>>>
Don't worry! Lots of cardboard... and yes, I'd change cages when you get home unless they're REALLY need to be done... then make sure ot leave the nest.... maybe a little more.
HAVE FUN!!!

Well... I've left mine alone for up to 5 days without having someone check on 'em and they did fine... When I shipped gerbils with me to Vegas, they were in a carrier for nearly 18 hours, all they had was 2 baby carrots per carrier and a handful of lab block... They all made it fine through the stress and heat...
