Hi everyone, hopefully someone will be able to help me with the problem I've been having.
I use the 4 oz. Oasis bell bottle in my gerbil cage. I haven't had any chewing problems with it, so it's worked out great in that regard, but I can't create a suction in the bottle. All the water drips out within a few hours. I lost the little plastic ball that goes inside it (don't know if that has anything to do with it), but it wouldn't suction before that anyway. The package just said to tap the metal ball at the end of it a few times to create the suction, but that doesn't work. It's very frustrating because the water leaks into the cage and wets the bedding, and I have to refill the bottle all the time. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for reading.

Hi tonlynski,
I don't know what's the matter with your water bottle.
If it were me I'd get a new water bottle for them.

I think I may have to do that, I just haven't been able to find one as chew-proof as the Oasis (both the thickness of the bottle and the chewguard have been nice deterrents), but I'm a little hesitant to buy another in case I encounter the same problem. But I'm assuming others have used the Oasis bottles with no problem...?

We only use Oasis bottles and we love them! If the water is leaking out like that it usually means something got stuck up in the spout that is preventing the suction OR every once in awhile we will get a bottle that doesn't have the rubber O ring that sits where the bottle screws into the base. If that ring is missing the water will leak out in no time. If I were you I would definitely check to see if the O ring is missing.
