Charlie loves oat grass (basically sprouted seeds) or whatever that stuff is that you buy for cats from the pet store.
How often should he be allowed to have it? Should I treat it as a fruit/veggie & once only every few days? What about hay?

Sorry, not sure what oat grass is tbh, not something I've seen here in the UK. If it's 'fresh' (not dried) then perhaps a munch once a week would be advisable. Gerbils should only have wet food once a week as a general rule Now hay they can have more often as it's dried. Just please make sure you freeze the hay first for at least 48hrs to kill off any bugs or mites that may be lurking in it ok! Sadly some members have had trouble with mites coming from hay and infesting their gerbils and tanks etc. Funnily enough I've just put some in my freezer yesterday! Just do it in small batches if you can't get a whole pack in the freezer in one go Gerbils love hay! They eat it, use it for their bedding and it helps support the substrate so they can make tunnels - it's great stuff!!! ;D Caroline

Oat grass happens to be sprouted oat seeds really. Thats all. They just look like blades of grass (my cats/rabbit love that stuff). I'll treat it as a weekly treat as you said, since it isn't dry. Thanks :-)
