First off, I have 10 gerbils, and I don't spend money on toys for them, other than chew sticks, and wheels. It's cheaper this way, and it's fun to make houses and toys for them. This is usually what my mom's cage looks like. Of course when she's near her due date, she has a hard time fitting in the tubes, so they all get removed, but she likes it none the less. On the small side on the pizza lid is her bed. (Ritzie and Blitz are in here right now, but there's new divider now) This is what I currently have my boys in. There's 3 in here right now. (In order, Sparky, Gizmo, and Keebler) And I also have 5 girls together. I don't have room for anything other than 10gals, but I got a high rise for them, and they seem to ove it!

;D I named him Keebler because when I got him he sorta looked like a little elf, and I was super hungry, and Keebler crackers are probably my favorites! (not to mention Keeber cookies are great too!) ((do you see the elf in him??)) ;D And Ritzie was named after Ritz crackers... my other fave crackers.

Hey Ritzie,
I have 4 retired breeding females that I want to introduce all together, but Im afraid they will fight. As I read that, you cant put more than 2 or 3 females together. So I quess it depends on the gerbils temperament. Have you had any problems with the girls?

It's all well and good now. I had a little trouble with one of my girls "Little B" (http://gerbilforum.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=behaviour&action=display&thread=1112139435) This is the thread I started about her and some of the problems. It might be a lot different for you though... Little B and her littermate sister Honey Dew are the oldest, they were from my 1st litter, born Jan 14th and then there's Kandice (from Sandy) born Feb 12th, and GG and her sister (any name ideas??? black spotted....) they were born Feb 19th. It was just Little B that had the physical problems though. Honey would grab Kandices' "hands" and scream at her, but I never caught Honey bite any of the little girls. Little B did though. She left a scar on Kandice's tail, and poor little no name pup! Little B put a big scab between her little sister's eye and ear. (it did NOT touch her eye though) and I believe Little B also broker her little sister's tail, it's got a big crook in it now! However, now that I've probably scared you Here's the end result (It took a week tops) Names, counter clockwise. starting with the spotted burmese... Little B, Honey Dew, Kandice, no name and GG. Kandice is a friend, the other 4 are full sisters.
