My last litter was so easy, I could tell I had 3 females and 2 boys at like 5 days old. This litter... omg. I come up with a different number each day and I've been trying to sex them since 6 days old! They're 11 days old now. 1 of the Agoutis is obviously a female. The rest of them.. Some look like they have slight dots on their sides, but then I can't find the 2 dots on the chest... Shouldn't a female have ALL the nipples showing? Then again, shouldn't a male NOT have any kind of mark whatsoever on his sides... 1 of the blacks has 6 pink dots, including the chest..so obviously a female... The other black... Also seems to have a spot on his sides, but none on the chest...Although with that one I can't tell if the pink spots are kind of underneath his paw or something.. My first black pups so yeah I have no idea if that's normal or it's a girl. It doesn't look like the other one, but he has the spot on the side like the agoutis... Is it normal for some females not to be so obvious? Maybe I just have half boys/half girls.

I usually watch for nipples when they have an age of about 10-12 days! Than the hairs on their belly start to grow and are the nipple very visible. however some have told me the following: Here you can see a female duprasi gerbil (fat-tailed gerbil) of about 2 weeks old. The nipples are clearly visible on the bottom, and no on the chest! (I don't have a picture of a Mongolian gerbil with nipples!)

I tried going by the genitals. Now I came up with 5 boys and 2 girls. And probably only 2 girls cause they have ALL the obvious nipples. lol. And the 'males' seem to have a darker spot down there. The girls didn't. I give up. Too late to really tell by the other nipples cause the hairs are starting to cover it. But yeah only 2 really show.
