That's it we Now have our 2 gerbils! ;D not from a shop but from an animal centre of a local college 2 males ( I hope, as I checked myself) Not from the same parents but have already been together for about 10 days. We picked them up yesterday and they seem happy and well settled in their new set up. They love their bird sand. Anyway, one is about 4/5 weeks, light grey (dried lavender colour) with dark red eyes: is he a Lilac, Dove or Sapphire? The other one is about 6/7 weeks, cream with like black eye shaddow with dark eyes: is he a Polar fox or a blue fox? (Sorry no pics) Many thanks

Hi Veronic,
Glad you have found yourself some gerbils! ;D Its very hard to tell you what colour they are with no pics!.
Has the second gerbil got a dark tail also? if not he maybe just a cream. the genes required to make a blue is not yet available in england due to the birthing problems associated with them. the only blue I am aware of in england is one owned by Kindred Stud (Wolfie) and a couple Jackie Roswell is trying to breed with no success so far.
The first one could be any of the three as all three colurs are basically the same just different shade.

Veronic, here is a picture I took of my gerbils that shows the three variations in ruby-eyed grey you can find: Hope you find it helpful.

Veronica, I believe that I have a sapphire (Sweetie) with dark pink (red) eyes. A picture of her is in the member photo area and you can compare yours to her. Queenie, would you have a look to see if I am correct. I don't want to give out the wrong info. I see in your picture, the sapphire has black eyes and mine has red. That is possible right?
I hope you can get pictures Veronica. I would love to see them!
