alright guys, so i just started breeding, picked up 2 blackies from the pet store outta a cage with like 6 and luckily she had babies like 2 weeks later! since then she raised a litter of 4, whom i let stay in the cage until i realized they were probly the reason her other pups are done.
now they are removed, all 4, and the blackies still got their 20 gal tank, with their one black daughter.
now, i have 2 male and 2 female kids, i want to introduce the males back in, or at least one, so they breed with the black daughter, however they have not been where they were brought up at in like 5 days. i threw goldie back in there, and he started to fight with pops it seemed, not to the death, but they were chasin each other pretty fast.
is it possible to get them back in there, if so, how? help!!

also, gotta 20 day old or so black daughter who matured much faster due to early eye opening, rarely nursed, as its impossible for one to stimulate enough milk.
think she would get along alone with her 8 week old bro?

Hi there,
I personally would advise you not to inbreed your gerbils, unless you are breedimg for a perticular colour mutation, especially if you have pet shop gerbils. You will have no way of knowing how inbred they already are, therefore you may end up with some very ill or mutated pups.
5 days is a long time for a gerbil so if they have been parted from dad for 5 days, he will probably never accept them back. In nature gerbils have a pack like family structure, only the alpha male and female will breed, therefore the daughter will probably never breed and if she did the mother would probably kill them for her.

P.s I have moved this thread into the breeding section as it seems more appropriate here.

if thats what you wanna do, but warned you maybe in for some heart ache with poorly and sickly babies. only warning you thats all..
Also please can you tone your language down, if you do not I will ban you IP address.
I have locked this thread now to avoid any arguement regarding inbreeding.
