Hello Queenofthenile-- I was just wondering about the gerbil you have as your picture-- the tan one sitting up. I've heard you can tell that a gerbil is a boy by the bulges, and the gerbil in that picture has two little bulges. Is that what people are talking about?? I ask because Nees was just sitting up, and it looked like the same thing on her, so now I'm worried. Thanks!, Devun

Do you mean this picture? Yes, that gerbil is a male and you can see his scrotal 'bulges'. Can you post a pic of Nees' rear end so that we can make sure 'she' is actually female?

Yes, that is the picture I'm referring to, but now that I look at it it's way way more noticeable than on Nees. Maybe all gerbils have a little cleft there? I am just super paranoid about the gender of my gerbils after the initial mishap.

Hi, Devun. Is Nees a little heavy? Birdie has put on some weight now that she's older and has little bulges, too. Birdie is definitely a girl. Does Nees look similar to Birdie? Hope this helps ease your mind. RW tidytuftgerbils.smugmug.com/photos/8339187-M.jpg [/img]

Oh good, it's not even that noticeable on Nees. And yes, she does love her sunflower seeds. I'm positive she's a girl now. Thanks guys!
