Hi all! I have a litter that will be ready to give away soon, and I just wondered if people could give me advice as to where to advertise online (or just advertising advice in general)? I already have several places to put an add, but the more the better! (I also have a website going up in a couple of days with info on the pups.)
Thanks in advance for any help! ;D

I will be willing to take any pups, as my gerbil just recently died. What color are they? Can you ship them?

My condolances on your loss! Unfortunately, because of regulations, shipping can only be done via a few airlines and from what I understand, it's incredibly expensive. To answer the color question though, they are yellow fox, lilac, argente golden, dark eyed honey, and agouti. All have a chance of carrying C[chm] and the ones who don't have ee have a 50% chance of carrying one recessive e. I am located in Alabama, USA, just FYI.

Hey Jubilee, I am sorry to hear about your loss It is devestating when a loved one passed on. Do you have others? Where do you live? Have you looked in the breeders section? Also if you don't find one near you there, you could look on the AGS website.

Have you tired your local high schools, or even middle schools? I'm finding homes for my pups through my FFA chapter at my high school. These little critters are good "SAE Projects" in FFA, and they'd be great for 4-H too!
You could also put a picture on the post board in the banks...
Good luck!

Hey Cal, Those are great ideas. Thank you ;D. I currently have 15 pups and I have adopted out 7 of them and have 8 left to go out. I might also have another litter from Momma Bear on the way. I thought I had a few more days before I had to split her and Squirt and she had the babies when I was at class. My husband knew but did not split them. OOPS. I have since nuetered Squirt and Honeymunch. I think I am going to take a rest from Breeding right now. I have too much going on

wow, how did the surgery go? Did the girls accept them back right away, any problems with them picking at their stitches? I'm glad you found a good vet to do the job:) Well my litter of colorpoint pups will be ready for new homes by the end of Feb. I posted on those sites before they were born- so I would be able to have homes for them in advance. but now I've gotten several emails from people willing to come to Rochester to pick up pups- I don't know if they saw my ad AGS, or US classifelds, and now I'm getting nervous about rehoming my pups with strangers. (figures) Up to this point everyone's found homes with people in the community that I knew, or knew of, or were friends of friends. Since I have more pairs now I know I have to begin adopting out to others, my question is what should I do to insure they go to a responsible home? On my website I asked people to email me with prior experience with rodents, have a tank ready for them, let me know what it was, and what pups they were interested in I give everyone a care pamphlet, list of safe/unsafe foods, and treats with the pups, and have an adoption fee to make sure they aren't feeders. The emails I've gotten all seem from genuinely nice people, but anyone could say tehy want a pair of friendly pups for a daughter...I don't want to sound suspicious, and I know I'll get to meet them in person, but is their anything else I should ask? I just want to make sure the pups are well taken care of...should I just ask for updates on them once they're home?

Hey Cal, The surgery went well and I have yet to introduce them back to each other. The vet did internal stitches with glue to adhere the outer skin. The vet suggested to wait 3-7 days so that the mates do not eat them!! She thinks that if they smell the wound, they will try to chew at it. I will introduce them tomorrow. I looked at them last night and they were still red and swollen. I always ask about experience with gerbils, set ups, and I let them know because I am a member of AGS, I can not allow my gerbils pups to go as breeders for snake food. Don't feel bad about asking questions about the people you are delivering them to. I let the adopters know that I want to make sure it is a good fit and tailor the pup to the family. It is all about how you address it and not so much as what you address.

Hey Mag,
I have gotten most of my clients through AGS website (classified) and word of mouth. I have recently made a flyer and emailed it to everyone in my area (that is in my address book) and asked them to post it at thier work, school, recreation area, etc. I will let you know how it goes.

I forgot to hit 'notify'... Glad the surgery went so well, are the boys back with their families now? Thanks for the advise, I feel a lot better now, lol, but I'm getting detailed histories from everyone on all their past gerbils (I asked to many ?'s ....but I'm sure they'll all be great homes ;D I think the people appreciated it to, and liked talking about their past pets, so it worked out nicely
