Aww, they all look so calm and friendly! Are they particularly docile?

OMG!! I bought a Gerbil book the other day and they menioned Duprasi's. I instantly fell in love and would love to own some. Unfortunately, I don't know any breeders of them here in the North of Wales. I'll have to keep an eye out. All your Duprasi's are absolutely gorgeous!! *X*

they are smaller but chubbier. I kept two but they are both gone now they are really different to mongolians, generally timid, and definitely harder to look after, as they seem to be very picky with food as well. my two did not live past 2-3 years, I'm wondering whether the species as a whole is not hardy, or the two I had were not of good stock. they are reported to live up to 7 years in captivity, i don't really know the real figures, but my second duprasi seemed to die of old age

I've always wanted Duprasi. darn monkey pox outbreak and darn the CDC deciding to ban them even though there has never been a case of pox in a Duprasi.

Awww! :D Very nice looking critters! I'm not sure if they go so far as jumoing off cliffs (could be wrong!), but they do drown attempting to forge large bodies of water. o.o They aren't the brightest creatures, for they get so used to following each other and crossing small streams during their migration that they just jump right into larger rivers and ponds and, well, don't make it back out. :'( To quote Wikipedia, it would be referred to as a "mass suicide". xD I find them quite interesting, lemmings. (cough) Lemmings Occasionally throw Themselves From Cliffs "In the 1958 Disney documentary White Wilderness, a camera crew forced a group of lemmings off a cliff to document their supposed suicidal behavior.... the lemmings were brought in for the film after they were purchased from Eskimo children. The lemmings were filmed in a variety of artificial situations and then herded to a cliff where they were pushed to the edge to stimulate a migration... The fact remains, lemmings do not throw themselves from cliffs" (Listverse.com)
