Hello all, Since I enjoyed viewing pictures of all of your pups, I thought I would return the favor. Admittedly, I think these pups are adorable and worth sharing pictures of Here is Honeymunch, Bandit, and the babies: The babies on a pillow: The babies in the tank: Not sure why 2 of the 3 pictures came out and the last one is an X. Does any one have any advice or pointers? Are the tails and feet too dark for a DEH or Nutmeg? I though it was odd that the tails and feet where extremely dark.

Oooh, their beautiful! It is normal for their eyes and feet to be really dark. Wow, they are so cute. Do you still think you have 1/2 nutmeg, 1/2 DEH? Two of them look lighter in this picture.

Thanks for all of the compliments. ;D
I am not sure about the dark feet and ears. I know Honeymunch does have dark ears and white fur over them.
I have 2 girls and 3 boys (I think). I will check again later.
I think I have 3 DEH's and maybe 2 Nutmegs. 2 are definitely lighter. The dark feet tails and ears are definitely confusing. I will check the AGS color stip. It should clarify a couple of things. The fur is definitely yellow on 3 of them so I am thinking DEH. The other 2 have lighter fur.
I now have a very important question. Can I keep the 2 females in the tank with mom to help with her next litter so I can separate Honeymunch? I really would like to adopt out before I get more babies. I know you can have one daughter but I was unsure of 2 daughters. Then I can put one daughter in with the newest pups and leave the other daughter with Mom (with Dad split caged) until I am ready for more pups or I get him nuetered?
Thanks for you input!!

I've heard you can leave 2 daughters to help mom raise her second litter, or all the pups if you want them to have the experience. But sometimes mom's don't like multiple older pups in the tank and might start to chase one of them, so I guess it's really up to your mom. I left all 4 pups (3 boys, 1 girl) in with mom for two days after the 2nd litter was born because I didn't want them separated from her yet,, and she was ok with that. I took the boys out a couple days later and they went to live with their dad, but left the daughter to help mom raise the last litter. She didn't mind having all of them in the tank. Oh, and nice pic, they're a cute couple.

I have 5 two day old pups from tufty and the day before they were born removed her 5 boys pups from the last litter leaving 3 5 week old girls in the cage with her, Halfway through the birth yesterday she was curled up with 2 newborns, dad and the 3 older pups all fast asleep!!!!! As has been said every gerbil family is different.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will then leave the 2 daughters in with mom to help raise the 2nd litter and tak the boys out to be with Dad. When I have adopted out all of the pups, then I wil re-introduce Dad to Mom and hopefully the 2 girls will have been adopted.
I can't wait to see what they are. After looking at the AGS color strip, I think that 3 are nutmeg because of the dark extremities and the other 2 are the DEH's.
I also can't wait until Momma Bear and Squirt have pups.
Okay it's off to finish the website!!

Thanks for all of the feed back you guys. Thanks for all the Cutes and Aww's!! ;D
I am proud of them (biasedly of course). They are getting fast. I put the little guys & gals on the blanket in the playground enclosure with Mom and Dad and they quickly waddled around on thier bellies like little alligators!!
It has been a great experience and I am almost done the website!! Just in time for the little ones to get adopted out.
