OK... i was just wondering if i can feed my gerbie acorns? because i have been giving him (Prince) acorns and i was wondering if i should be doing that... or am i in serious trouble by a vet? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

I'm assuming no. I think they can be poisonous, and since it's coming from outside (and probably from the ground!) you don't know what could be lurking around in it.

No I'm not, but I do know that different types of acorns can be poisonous. Not to mention that they are doming from the ground...

No, acorns are not safe to feed. There's a good chance they have pesticides on or in them, and acorns are toxic to many animal species all on their own. Quercus PoisoningThat said, unless Prince is showing symptoms, you probably don't need to rush him to a vet. If he starts acting poorly, by all means take him in, but it would likely be a wasted trip at this point. The danger in acorn (and many other) toxins is when they build up in the body. Just stop giving him acorns, and keep a close eye on his health and behavior for the next week or so.
