Argh I've waited a month maybe two and my gerbils still haven't mated well I saw them doing it once lol but the female didn't get pregnaunt I got both my gerbil's from Petsmart two seperate stores that is, The females fur is currently molting she is much lighter than before (Color wise) and my Nutmeg (MALE) is the same atsept shedding, I really wanted pups and my parent's have no problem with gerbil pups since they love gerbils because of their high personality compared to my other rodents (Mice) Any idea's on gettin' these lil guy's to get it on? :-P Thank's in advance!!

patience how old are they? my bet is they are the same age yes? in which case they will grow up together and mature together and may take their time to have pups my first pair I bought August and didn't get pups till November!!! 3 months!!!.........In nearly gave up lol The trick is put a younger female to an older male The female will mature faster, have pups younger and of course further down the line will stop breeding younger too So in answer to your query...........patience..your pups will turn up sooner or alter I'm sure

If they are only now currently molting then they're probably just now entering sexual maturity. I also had a pair take three months to produce pups - the female was an adult but the male was a pup, and he took his time.

Yeah they sound too young if they're molting. Also, they usually mate at night, so they could've done it already and you not know.
