Well, right on the heels of the whole savaging fiasco, we have more pups. [glow=red,2,300]12[/glow]to be exact! Nibbles was gi-normous day before yesterday; I found 5 dark-eyed pups and 1 light eyed yesterday. This morning, Cameron found 6 dark eyed under Buffy! Yikes! Hopefully, these will be just fine! Will keep you all posted!

:)Thanks! Yes, I have Buffy and Coal (DEH and black), Nibbles and Squirrel (Honey Cream and Agouti), and two other pairs that haven't bred yet: Peaches and Ziggy (DEH and Sapphire) and Marshmallow and Raspberry (Honey Cream and ?? Not sure what Razz is, he looks like a Red-eyed Honey to me, but I'm still learning). I also have a young female Dove (Raincloud) that I plan on introducing to Coal after I retire Buffy.
(I really need to get pics of the adults and post them!)

I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know squat about color genetics yet. Science has never been my strong point and the genetics thing is mind boggling for me! So far, though, from Buffy, Coal and Nibbles, we've had DEH, REH, honey cream, and agouti. Now that there's more combinations added in, I'm hoping to get something new.

lol, I didn't either. I read up on a lot of sites, but things didn't really click into place until after I downloaded the Geribl Genetics calculator- after trying different combo's I could see how everything worked and affected the other genes and color of the gerbil.
Well I don't know which parent's had these pups, but is Coal black? If he is he must carry aa C- Ee G- Pp, and most likely ch/cb for the Honey Cream pups. He has a lot of recessives- did you get him from a breeder or was he a lucky petstore find?
Can you tell how many pups of each color you have now or are the pups still to young? maybe you'll have some nutmegs this litter!! ;D
