Office supply shops and craft stores may have the exact same thing.

Remember that I'm in another country and not just in another city.
Stuff that is common for you might not be for me. I have never seen this thing you talk about here.

Being an international forum I think we are all mindful of the fact that you may not find the exact things we are laying out for options. There are certainly things that the UK members have that I can't get my hands on and vice versa... even members from other places like Estonia or Spain have things we don't have. While it may not be called "eco-bedding" or "eco-packing", I think they are showing you the material so you can see if you find anything similar to it. Maybe you could tell us some of the office supply companies you have and we can try to find it for you then.

What I wanted to point out is that the material you are recomending doesn't exist here. What we have is the one I posted. People who have gerbils here use kitty litter or shavings. (Most likely from pinus)

(Most likely from pinus) Right but I was simply suggesting that if you say what office supply or pet stores ARE there maybe other, more experienced members, could point out whats best for you that IS there. I don't particularly know much about cat litter and I know if it is kiln-dried, Pine can be fine. Again, I was simply suggesting have another person take a look at a website of a store that you actually DO have access to.

You very well may be limited and just go with the best of what is available, having been overseas to asia and such I know some places have almost no options.

Finally found something good! But I don't think that they could dig their tunnels on this (also it would be very expensive to fill the aquarium with a deep layer of it) So, what should I do? Mix it with chopped cardboard so they can dig their tunnels?

That is going to mold as soon as urine hits it, and dust will be enormous.
All 5 of my pups, plus the mother died from complications with that bedding.
They will not be able to tunnel.

I'm a bit behind on this thread. This recipe looks interesting in concept, though I don't think I'd add baking soda (or charcoal for that matter). You could dry that in your oven, see how it comes out. Gerbils produce very little urine, so smell is generally not a big problem like with other rodents. Eco-bedding is basically just specially shredded, unbleached packing paper. If you were to shred brown packaging paper you'd probably get close to the same thing. If your climate really is very dry, you shouldn't have to worry about mold given the small amount of urine gerbils produce. Gerbil owners in the UK and other damp places have to be much more careful when it comes to mold.

My vet stated that corncob is not appropriate for gerbils. Especially in the dry climate, the dust will be insane. I'm talking a rather substantial film.

Since nothing I find seems good I will try to shred packing/cardboard and make my own finacard. www.erodent.co.uk/Bedding.htmSo I will use cardboard rools, finacard and hygienic paper for nesting.
