Would it be ok to give them a roll of toilet paper? Well not an entire roll, like half of a roll. I think that might amuse them.

Um, I don't think any of my gerbils actually ingest the toilet paper - they use their front paws and teeth to shred it up and then gather it and put it in their nest. Mostly they'll just destroy it - I don't think anyone has had a problem with t.p. and gerbils.

I've never had a problem with toilet paper either. I usually take a good knife and cut the rolls into thirds and give the whole third piece to the tanks. If you want to watch something REALLY funny, dangle one of those rolls from the cage where they can grab a piece of it, then they will try forever to get the toilet paper that keeps unrolling and unrolling, LOL

Gerbils absolutly love toilet paper rolls by themselves, or with the paper stil on them! ;D

Thats sounds like a great idea to me! although I would be willing to waste all that good TP on my gerbils when I could use it for myself But when they are close to finished Ill usually change the roll leaving a few extra plys on it so they have something to tear appart as well as chew.
