I have four gerbils and all enjoy being out in the exercise balls altho i am used to them sometime doing droppings in the balls my black n white one Banger has started weeing in the ball and this means when he travels along the floor inside he gets covered in wee and doesnt smell nice when he comes out and ends up witha wild hair style to, this didnt used to happen but say over the past month he's started doing it and altho it isnt a problem just wondered if anyone else has had this happening and if there is any way to reduce the chances as being covered in wee isnt nice for any one human or animal.

I Dislike those Exercise balls because there is a chance your gerbil can get their leg/arm/tail stuck in the air holes. Otherwise the wee problem is a natural thing as they urinate when they run.

i bet they wee and poo as they are a little scared in those balls. i would not bother with them, it sounds like they are stressed out by being in the ball. you could just try and let them come out for fun with supervising them

I would get rid of the balls as well. You and your gerbils would have much more fum running about in the bath tub or the sofa I went in a huge hamster ball type thing at a theme park and i felt like weeing myself....not nice!

Dove used to wizz all over when she went in the hamster ball. Like the others have said, it can scare them alot. I didn't even try the ball with the SnowRose; they love playing with their toys in the bathtub. If they really do love the balls as much as you say, then you can clean it. As soon a he piddles take him out, clean the ball and dry it, and put him back in. That should give you a good 20 minutes minimum before he squirts again. Good luck! ^-^

local shelter you can take them too? I take anything i dont need anymore to my local shelter, like i just recently took my 2 bird cages up there and all the toys from when i had my birds
And i brought all my old hampster stuff up when i had to give them all my gerbils, since most of my hampster stuff would be chew up by gerbils i never used it with them
