i had two gerbils and got a gerbilarium then a year later i decided to have more gerbils and didnt like trying to get them all to get along together so had a seperate tank on the top of the gerbilarium and put my two new ones in there, a year on and the other day i was cleaning them out and thought would it be ok to swap houses say have my 1st two in the tank and the others in the gerbilarium or do they get used to where they live etc its just one of the gerbils in the tank is v lively and thought he may be betta in the gerbilarium etc but i dnt want to swap them over and them be upset by nu homes etc as they are used to old ones etc so should i leave them as they are or swap them round?  ??

They will be ok swapping homes. Put some of their old bedding in so they don't feel completely lost and don't be surprised if they are quiet for a week or so while they get used to the new surroundings.

They should be fine, just make sure both tanks are thoroughly cleaned before swapping just incase they pass on anything my current girl has been in several different wire cages and 2 different tanks and it has never effected her at all
