Mongolians at 12 days-- I think it's a little easier to tell with white-bellied pups.   |

nice photos! i always look for the nipples just inside the arms, those are the easiest to see, or maybe thats just the light. lol

This is a Great thread.
I can tell the gender of the pups when they are about 2-3 days old simply by looking at their little "parts" its easy to see which are going to be male and female. But again i've always had hamster,gerbils & mice for pets.

Another good way of telling the difference is that male pups have a much larger scent gland compared to a female. Look at the pics of the 10 and 12 day old pups in this thread - you will see what I mean. Here's a couple of pics of my pups at 10 days old. MALE - here you can see the gap between genitals and anus and also the large scent gland.  FEMALE - you can see the nipples under the arms and the smaller scent gland (the genitals aren't so easy to see in this pic).  |

im having truoble getting photos to sex my 6 week old gerbils. i was wondering if anyone had comparison photos? 2 of them i reacon have testicles? Like 2 oval shaped lumps? im trying to be so careful, and tomorrow is splitting day, thought other people might find it useful if anyone has photos as pups get that bit older?
