Is there a way to get avatars and signatures without photobucket? Or do I need a photobucket account? (asking cuz I'm lazy and don't want to make a photobucket if I don't have to )

"If you would like to use your own custom avatar, enter the full http:// URL to it in this box. You can specify your own custom width and height for your avatar. Avatars must be no more than 100x100 pixels." -- modify profile across from the avatar section
That's my take on it. It seems fairly straightforward. Let me know if that works. I might actually use a picture in the future, but I'm too lazy to change it now.
As for signatures... IDK. I was gonna have one with pics of my gerbies but I couldn't figure out how to do it.

No you don't need a photobucket account per-se, but you do need your picture to be hosted somewhere on the internet so that you can use the url in your signature. Photobucket, imgur, imageshack, tinypic etc are all good free ways to achieve that. Creating an account is going to be simpler than any other option

Thanks, "The gerbils"! I use gimp. I agree with Amski. I'd say that making a photobucket acct is probably the easiest way.

yep, photobucket is the best way to go. It's actually not hard at all. Very easy. I made mine with photobucket. Took just a couple mins. It might be a little confusing at first, but it's pretty easy to figure out. If you want, I'd be happy to make you one.
