I'm looking for a Large pets at home Gerbilarium (or similar) for my girls as they are only in the smallest version at the moment. I can't afford to pay a huge amount as i've had some pretty hefty energy bills recently :S But i'd like to treat them to an upgrade
In or Very close to Bristol (UK) as i don't drive and can't always get access to a car

Why not look into a glass tank on ebay or preloved? I had a look but after a week and a half couldn't find anything local and ordered the largest storage container from the Range. It's 160 litres and less than £20, I did ask in store but they didn't have the largest one in stock but had the 110 litre one for around £12. I have even added a shelf into mine to put their water bottle and sand bath on, and they seem really happy.

I agree with Redsky I have 2 gerbils in the large gerbilarium from P@H, and have up until previously kept two in the 160 litre bin, and they loved it in their just as much as the ones in the gerbilarium! www.therange.co.uk/160l-plastic-storage-box-clear/housewares/The-Range/fcp-product/49246The link is above so you can take a look You can convert the bin to a mesh covering lid or I have seen some gerbils owners/breeders simply drill lots of holes in to the top of the lid

I have added a shelf (using three sheets of corrugated card and they haven't even started chewing it!) and placed the play pen inside it, then put the lid on upside down. The lid is too heavy and high for them to knock off and sits well on top of the bars. I will take a picture later to show you what I mean, but it just meant more room for some toys and sand bath and attaching water bottle without getting too complicates, plus airflow without doing anything to the tub!
