I was just eating a Kiwi, and wondered if it is safe, to give to gerbils? In small amounts of course..

I've never seen it stated anywhere that it's unsafe. Kiwi fruit is actually a berry, so I would treat it as such. Too much will probably cause runny stools, but very small amounts, including the seeds are probably OK.

I looked on the internet, and most sites said it was ok, some said not the seeds and skin, etc. so I thought I would post here and ask you more experienced people Thank you!

Yes, Kiwi is safe for Gerbil. they enjoy all types of different nuts, seeds, berries, and other fruits and vegetables. so it is OK with wiki for Gerbil's food.

No! Kiwi is a very sour fruit and that is not good for the gerbils tummy! Don't give that kind of stuff to your gerbils!

I think its safe~not sure that they'd even like it though. I gave Roo a bite of one I was eating once and he took a lick and jumped back with his ears back I don't think he liked the sourness. If they do like it I'd feed extra small amounts, because although its a berry, many do have that same harshness of citrus fruit.

Do you know why? I haven't found anywhere that states it is particularly bad for them i wrote it just if you look up but you know how you feel when you eat it? its a very sour fruit so its not a very good idea cuz gerbils have very sensitive tummies so you nead to be very carefull. its a good thing to allways think about the thumrule "no acid no sour or spicy stuff for your gerbils little belly, be carefull with the stone fruits and remember that its better not to give something than to have a sick furball to worry about" its sound much better in swedish but its the content that matters ;P
