Hi all. I've popped over to the Mongolian Gerbil Forum to announce that we are running a virtual mini-show over at eGerbil.com until Sunday, 4 November, 2012. We'd love for you to visit us and participate.

We'll be accepting entries until midnight, Eastern Standard Time (GMT - 5:00 h) , Sunday, 4 November. So, that gives you two whole weeks to prepare your entries. Please P.M. your picture(s) to either Indyrascal or Cliveandcharlie at eGerbil.

This is meant to be a fun show, so the categories are:
• Chunkiest gerbil
• Cheekiest gerbil
• Best rescue gerbil
• Best disabled/special needs gerbil
• Gerbil legend category: For those gerbils who have passed on, but still hold a special place in our hearts and memories. Post a picture and write a paragraph about what made your gerbil unique.
• The vanity categories: most handsome male, prettiest female
•“Other pets”: Any other pet you’d like to enter in the contest who is not a gerbil.
• Best Halloween-themed gerbil picture. Be creative!
• Cutest pup(s)

I have made an account and am currently waiting to receive confirmation of a password etc. (My username is the same as on this site.)
Is it free entry? Any limitation on how many photos we can send you?
I take so many photos of my little guys and it would be great to put them to some use

I've been waiting for a password for about a month and a half now. Any idea why its takeing this long? I would love to participate.

Sofluffy: We encourage you to enter as many photos as you like. So... no limits. The more entries, the merrier. Hopefully, you'll get your password soon.

forceofnature: Ed is a very busy guy, but at this point it would be worth sending Ed a reminder. I've already PM'd him to say that there may be more people joining the forum to enter the contest.

Will we likely receive our log ins in time for the comp'?

Ed has to go through each application individually. The reason he does this is to stop any spammers from getting onto the forum. The applications have to be filled in correctly for them to be accepted so could be due to a mistake or not supplying all the information required. It's something we are aware of though that people have been waiting a long time to be approved and are currently trying to sort this situation out. eGerbil has been built from scratch and doesn't have a provider like proboards so is totally independent and some problems may crop up as the new forum/website is still quite "young". Apologies to anyone who has been waiting a long time but hopefully we can get this problem solved. Anyone who has put in an application that hasn't been approved, please email myself at [e-mail] with your name and the username you had chosen and I will try to sort it out.
