It might...I dont want to irritate it, should I try washing it? I get payed tomorrow even though it wont be alot ($150) should I try to schedule a vet visit? how much does it normally cost?

at the moment its just dry, hard and like crusty. Hes eating and drinking and digging and I put in a big box and he destroyed it like normal. I hope its just like you said and maybe its just dry scent gland stuff? :/

Your best bet, if no-one who can help comments in here soon, would be to get him checked over just to be safe I think :/ Peace of mind and all that

His gland looks normal. They should be a brownish color and rough to the touch.
Scent gland tumors are generally pink and stick out like a wart,
