Hello. I have one gerbil. (I know I should have two, but I'm not entirely sure ours is a girl and Mom doesn't appreciate more animals) Anyway I need a, possibly, five gallon aquarium for Pepperoni, our gerbil. Does anybody have objections to five gallons? If ya do, speak up! Thanks in advance!! P.S. I live in Mount Holly, NJ.

I would say a minimum of 10 gallons. Why not look into a storage bin, I find they are bigger, cheaper and easier to move and clean? Get a transparent one and either drill holes in the lid or replace with mesh.

hate to disagree, but i disagree i would recommend at least 10g tank space regardless of whether there is a topper. especially for a loner.

Well I didn't know space constrictions for the OP so wanted to give another option if she could build up instead of out.
