I posted this not very long ago but here it is again. One people thought there was nothing for them to do so i had a rummage and dug up the toys i could find. Sadly they are on pine shavings but i have never had any problems and to use aspen in a tank that size would cost almost as much as the tank did. however i am considering changing the other side is filled with peat.

Because it is such a large tank only containing two gerbils I only need to clean it every 2-3 months. When i replace the peat it is layered with the bedding. It costs me hardly anything but if you were using aspen it would cost quite a lot more.

Here are a couple of mine This one i made, but found the glue wasn't strong enough so i never used it. When I have time, I will re-make it. This is my "Play Pen", but if modified could make a fun home This one I house 3 males. One side if for sleeping and eating the other is for playing, I actually have 2 wheels in it usually, but when I took the pic. the other was being cleaned. This is my only single 10G tank, it houses two young females, They have a 2 story home, I used Tank sealant to glue them together. These are my two 20G tanks, one tall and one long Of course these pictures are all when the tanks had just been cleaned. I give them SO much cardboard & hay everyday the bedding is more shredded cardboard and hay then Kay Cob now. For fun toys I always check out the local Dollar stores, you can find so many things there. Things I buy for my gerbils at the dollar store are Wooden Spoons, paper plates and "oil scents warmers". Like This "Tea Pot", it's actually a oil scents warmer, and I took the little lid off and use the top part as a food dish, it works great! And the gerisl love it, i had ALL 6 SQUISHED into that thing one day, it was crazy!
