Does anyone no of a play pen that is gerbil proof? I've had one of those multi colored ones, but they got out 1st try. So i was wodering if anyone new of one, cheap please! (not much $$$$!) I'm like broke! CYA, victoria

i suggest using the bathtub, but i like p[laypens 'cuz they are portable, though the bathtub might be bigger.

Hey Vic,
I actually used 2 plywood boards and screws and used a corner of the kitchen. The plywood was about 3 feet by 5 feet and the other was about 3 feet by 3 feet. I screwed them together purpendicular and put it at a right angle to the corner and used the walls as the other sides to block them in. This gave them a bigger area to run in. Mine always got out of the play pen. It is great for pups but adults can jump out.
The bath tub is a great idea or you could plug up below the bathroom door and any other holes and let them run around on the bathroom floor (as long as you monitor them). You might want to keep the toilet seat down as a precaution.
