I have a 3-week-old pup whose right eye hasn't opened. It looks like the lids are fused shut. I tried wiping it with a damp cloth and that didn't help. I don't know what to do. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Both eyes should be open at 3 weeks however, sometimes it takes a little while. They don't open them both at the same. How long has the other eye been open? I'd suggest that you keep bathing the eye with warm water maybe a couple of times a day. Don't to stress the pup by doing it too much. It should open on it's own eventually.

Indeed just wait! Sometimes it takes a bit longer for one eye. And as Floppy suggested, bathing the eye with warm water may help (maybe it soften the skin), but I have not tried it myself.

Just wanted to let you know that his eye finally did open after a few attempts with a warm rag. I was a little worried because his other eye had opened about five days earlier and even the runts who seem to be a few days behind in developement had both of their eyes open.

5 days is long! I have had several pups that didn't open their both eyes on the same day, but it was never 5 days! But good that it opened.
