Paws is looking slightly thinner than Sterling, and he was always the fat one and the dominant but now is the submissive. This is becasue Sterling had to look after him. I am worried that Sterling is not letteing him get enough food. Is this possible?

yes. Bring a chair, sit down and watch them interact for a while. If there are dominance issues this can happen. To stymie this, sprinkle the food everywhere in the cage. Also sometimes one of the gerbils will be greedy and take most of the food. I usually split up fat-thin pairs and pair my fat gerbils together, and thin gerbils together. Then my fat ones go on a diet!

lol! I made Paws a food cage, where there are some treats, and Sterling is going on a diet so Paws gets to sleep in his food house every day for and hour!

That sounds like a good idea! Lots of sunflower seeds for Paws, ok? Best of luck with that.

Do pumkin seeds have alot of fat in them? Also, for Sterlling I bought a "safety wheel for rodents" with no gap for the tail to get stuck in and a "safety belt" ;D
